AI + Compliance Glossary
Plain-English definitions of 30 India-relevant AI, compliance and neurotech terms — each with its own indexable page.
Compliance
- ISO/IEC 42001The world's first AI Management System standard (2023). Voluntary, becoming a procurement gate for EU/UK/US enterprise deals.
- DPDP Act 2023India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act. Governs consent, purpose limitation, data-fiduciary duties and breach reporting for personal data.
- ISO/IEC 27001The international standard for Information Security Management Systems. The security baseline enterprise buyers expect from an AI vendor.
- ISO/IEC 27701Privacy Information Management System extension to ISO 27001. Bridges an ISMS to GDPR + DPDP data-privacy duties.
- SOC 2US audit report by AICPA covering security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy. Type II covers 6–12 months.
- GDPREU General Data Protection Regulation. Sets the global bar for personal-data handling; DPDP borrows heavily from its clause structure.
- NIST AI RMFUS NIST AI Risk Management Framework. Voluntary, function-based (Govern/Map/Measure/Manage) approach to trustworthy AI.
- HIPAAUS Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. Required for AI vendors handling US Protected Health Information (PHI).
- AI Impact Assessment (AIA)Per-system evaluation of an AI deployment's risk to people. Mandatory under ISO 42001, expected under DPDP for high-risk processing.
- Significant Data Fiduciary (SDF)DPDP classification for entities processing large volumes or sensitive personal data. Triggers extra duties: DPO, DPIA, audit.
- Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA)Structured evaluation of a processing activity's privacy risk. Mandatory for SDFs under DPDP and for high-risk processing under GDPR.
AI
- Mixture of Experts (MoE)AI architecture where a router activates only a subset of expert sub-networks per token. Delivers large capacity at lower inference cost.
- Model Context Protocol (MCP)Open standard by Anthropic for exposing tools, data and prompts to LLMs. NeuroCortex supports 25+ MCP connectors at ₹1/call.
- Agentic AIAI systems that plan multi-step actions, call tools and iterate autonomously. NeuroCortex's NeuroAgent wraps this cleanly.
- Context WindowThe token budget an LLM can attend to at once. Both NeuroCortex and EQCortex ship the Infinite Context Window — virtually infinite context, up to 100 billion tokens per request (enterprise).
- InferenceThe act of running an already-trained AI model against new input to get a prediction or generation.
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)Pattern where the LLM retrieves relevant documents from a vector store before generating an answer. Standard for enterprise Q&A.
- Large Language Model (LLM)Deep-learning model trained on large text corpora for language understanding + generation. NeuroCortex is India's frontier LLM.
- Prompt InjectionAttack where hostile instructions inside untrusted content override the intended system prompt. Top OWASP LLM risk (LLM01).
- OWASP LLM Top 10OWASP's top 10 security risks for LLM applications — prompt injection, data leakage, supply chain, model DoS, etc.
- Sovereign AIAI models, weights, hosting and audit accountability owned within a single jurisdiction. NeuroCortex is India's sovereign AI.
- NeuroCortexBharat NeuroTech's ~220B MoE multimodal flagship (~15B active per token). Text, vision, voice, documents. Shares the Infinite Context Window with EQCortex — up to 100B tokens/request (enterprise).
- EQCortexBharat NeuroTech's ~580B emotionally intelligent flagship engine — a model purpose-built for emotional intelligence. Unprecedented emotional intelligence: empathy, tone, affect, human context. Shares the Infinite Context Window with NeuroCortex — up to 100B tokens/request (enterprise).
Product
- NeuroAgent (Agent Mode)NeuroCortex's proprietary orchestrator that turns the chat into an autonomous multi-step agent with tool-use and web access.
- NeuroReason (Deep Thinking)NeuroCortex's proprietary reasoning layer — returns only the polished final answer, keeps the reasoning trace private.
- Infinite Context WindowShared product context layer on BOTH NeuroCortex and EQCortex. Virtually infinite context, up to 100 billion tokens per request (enterprise).
- NeuroMemoryBharat NeuroTech's proprietary memory layer that powers the shared Infinite Context Window on NeuroCortex and EQCortex — up to 100 billion tokens per request (enterprise).
- NeuroCortex CodeMasterCode-tuned sibling of NeuroCortex. Scaffolds and runs React+Vite apps in-browser via WebContainer. ₹5 per run.
- WebContainerBrowser-based Node.js runtime by StackBlitz that lets NeuroCortex CodeMaster run React+Vite apps entirely client-side.
- Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)Optimising for AI-answer surfaces like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Speakable + FAQPage + facts.json.
- RazorpayIndian payments gateway. Bharat NeuroTech's INR billing rail — wallet top-ups, audit purchases, consult bookings.
Neuro
- NeuroMarketingApplied consumer neuroscience — using attention, emotion, memory and decision science to design pricing, packaging and creative.
- Neuro-ForensicsBehavioural + digital-trace analysis applied to fraud, corporate investigations and litigation support.
- Software NeurotechnologyThe category Bharat NeuroTech coined — using software (not brain implants) to decode people, brands and AI systems.
